Elizabeth's Story
It’s been almost five years since then 14-month-old Elizabeth developed a brain tumor that required emergency neurosurgery. Following surgery, she underwent six months of chemotherapy and received many blood and platelet transfusions. The tumor has returned twice since then, and both times she has needed more lifesaving donations of blood products. All along Elizabeth’s Uncle Anthony has been the “super recruiter”, mobilizing everyone he knows to give blood and platelets for Elizabeth and others in need. Today, Uncle Anthony and 6-year-old Elizabeth are a team, spreading the word wherever they go about how being a volunteer donor can help save lives!
