eQue™ Automated Registration
Improves Donation Experience

April 2008

Community Blood Services is pleased to announce the implementation of eQue™ Automated Interview and Assessment in all of its donor centers. eQue is a self-administered donor registration system, health history questionnaire and assessment tool to assist the blood center in determining a person’s eligibility to donate blood.

With eQue, donors use a touch screen or kiosk to quickly, easily and confidentially complete their donor questionnaire. The software system is designed to improve the blood donation experience and to improve operating efficiency at Community Blood Services.

eQue provides a user-friendly interface with touch screen technology, audio and visual prompts, and multi-lingual capabilities. Once registered, the donor completes the health history questionnaire, and eQue then provides staff with all required information for the center to determine donor eligibility. The “smart” electronic questionnaire shortens the registration process, with improved accuracy.

“eQue is easier than filling out forms and a lot more fun,” said Lorretta Tuohey, manager of donor services at Community Blood Services. “eQue also allows staff to spend more time on the donation floor helping donors rather than in the screening area.”

Community Blood Services expects to introduce eQue on its mobile blood drives in April, Tuohey said.
