Dr.
Zbigniew (Roger) Mrowiec |

Dr.
Mrowiec is the Director of the stem cell laboratory. Previously,
Dr. Mrowiec was associate director of the stem cell laboratory;
assistant professor and postdoctoral fellow with the Department
of Oncology at Montefiore Medical Center at Albert Einstein
College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY, and assistant professor,
lecturer, and research assistant at the Institute of Hematology
in Warsaw, Poland.
Dr. Mrowiec received
his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the Medical
University of Bialystok, Poland,
and was a visiting fellow at Albert
Einstein College of Medicine. He
is a member of the American Association
of Blood Banks, International Society
for Hematotherapy and Graft Engineering,
and New Jersey Society Of Blood Bank
Professionals, and former president
of the Polish Society of Hematology
and Transfusiology, Warsaw Division.
Dr. Mrowiec has published
17 articles in scientific journals
and presented more than 24 abstracts
at international meetings. In 1983,
he established the first Polish national
bank of frozen platelets. He has
been working in blood banking since
1982. He is one of the original scientists
who started the Umbilical Cord Blood
Program at Community Blood Services.

Misty
Marchioni is the Business & Development Manager of the
stem cell laboratory. Previously, Ms. Marchioni was a collection
supervisor and specialist. Prior to working at Community
Blood Services, Ms. Marchioni was the director of the Hematology
Department of Professional Medical Laboratory in Ridgewood,
NJ; a technician in the Chemistry Laboratory at Hackensack
University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ; an emergency
room technician at Beth Israel Hospital in Passaic, NJ; and
a laboratory assistant at Hoffman La-Roche in Nutley, NJ.
Ms.
Marchioni attended William Paterson University in West
Paterson, NJ for nursing and received her Medical Laboratory
Technology degree from Bergen County Community College
in Paramus, NJ. Her laboratory internship was spent at
Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ.
She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

DeLeon-Fernandez |

Maryely
DeLeon-Fernandez is the Manager of the stem cell laboratory.
Previously, Mrs. DeLeon-Fernandez was a research specialist/grant
administrator in the pediatric nephrology, oncology, and
pathology departments of Montefiore Medical Center at Albert
Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY; senior research
assistant at the Cornell University Medical College in New
York, NY; administrative assistant in the Psychiatry Department
of Mount Sinai Medical Center/Bronx V.A. Hospital in the
Bronx, NY; and research assistant in the HPLC/RIA Laboratory
of the Psychiatry Department of Mount Sinai Medical Center
in New York, NY.
Mrs. DeLeon-Fernandez
received her Bachelor of Arts in chemistry
from the City University of New York
in New York, NY. She is a member of
the Institutional Animal Care and Use
Committee of Montefiore Medical Center
in Bronx, NY.
Mrs.
DeLeon-Fernandez has published 12 articles
in scientific journals and two abstracts.

Barbara Cieszynska |

Dr.
Cieszynska is the Laboratory
Supervisor in
the stem cell laboratory. Previously, she worked as a postdoctoral
fellow in the Cardiology Research Institute of the New
York Medical College in Westchester County, NY.
Dr. Cieszynska received her medical diploma
at the Medical University of Lublin in Poland. Her residency
was spent at the Nowa Deba Hospital in Poland. Her fellowship
was done in the County Hospital of Dermatology in Stalowa
Wala, Poland.

Cozine |

Madeline
Cozine is the Collection Supervisor in
the stem cell department. Previously, Mrs. Cozine
worked as a Collection
Specialist and a phlebotomist
in the Donor Services department of Community
Blood Services; and as a medical assistant in
the pediatric, oncology, and orthopedic field. |
Mrs.
Cozine received her medical assistant degree
from the Medical Training Institute in Bloomfield,
NJ. She is also certified in pharmacology, electrocardiograms,
and phlebotomy. |

Jones |

Tanya Jones is a Data Entry
Clerk in the stem cell department. Previously,
Ms. Jones was a Collection Specialist in the
Cord Blood Lab and worked as phlebotomist in
Donor Services at Community Blood Services.� She
also was dialysis technician at the South Bronx Kidney Center |
Ms. Jones received
her phlebotomy certification while working
at the blood center. |

Dr.
Yildirim is a medical technologist in the stem
cell laboratory. Previously, she worked as a
phlebotomist in the Donor Services department
of Community Blood Services. Dr. Yildirim received
her medical diploma in Turkey. |

Joy S. Jeremiah-McMeo |
|
Joy Jeremiah-McMeo is
a medical technologist in the stem cell laboratory.
Previously, Ms. Jeremiah-McMeo worked as technician
at the Petrotrin Refinery Lab in Trinidad.
Ms. Jeremiah-McMeo received her associate’s
degree from Essex County College and is currently
enrolled at Rutgers University for her bachelor’s
degree in biology. |

Dr.
Aleman is a medical technologist in the stem
cell laboratory. Previously, he worked as an
apheresis technician in the Donor Services department
of Community Blood Services. Dr. Aleman received
his medical diploma in Nicaragua. |

Evelyn Gonzalez is a Collection Specialist in the
stem cell department.� Previously, Ms. Gonzalez
worked as a Data Entry Clerk in the stem cell
department and a phlebotomist in Donor Services
at Community Blood Services.
Ms. Gonzalez is currently pursuing
a degree in Nursing. |
