Donate Blood at Paramus or Montvale Donor Centers
& Get a Smashburger Gift Card

April 10, 2015

Type O negative blood donors who donate at Community Blood Services Paramus or Montvale donor centers on Friday, April 10 will receive a complimentary gift card to Smashburger.

In addition, donors who are Donorplus Rewards Program members will receive an extra 100 points to redeem online for a variety of gifts.

Ferriday said O negative blood, the universal blood type, is in most demand by local hospitals because it can be used by any patient in need, regardless of their blood type. There has been an ongoing shortage of Type O negative blood and the center is working hard to replenish the supply, Ferriday said.

One donation can save up to three lives, said Karen Ferriday, director of community affairs at Community Blood Services. We are asking our Type O negative and O negative cmv negative donors of baby units for our pediatric patients to please give the gift of life.

Type O negative donors can get their Smashburger gift card when they donate on Friday, April 10 between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Paramus Donor Center, 1 West Ridgewood Avenue, Suite 208 or at the Montvale center, 102 Chestnut Ridge Road, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To make an appointment to donate, donors can call 201-251-3703 or click here to schedule online. Donors must be 17-75 years of age (16 with parental permission) and weigh at least 110 pounds. Complimentary non-fasting cholesterol and glucose screenings are offered with every donation.

If you are not yet a Donorplus Rewards member but would like to join the club you can click here to create an account. Once you log in using your donor ID, you will be able to view your points and start redeeming them for gifts.
