Donate Your Card to Help Sponsor a Birthday Party for a Sick Child

December 5 & 6, 2014

Volunteer donors who donate blood, platelets or plasma on December 5 or 6 at one of our New Jersey donor centers can put a smile on the face of a seriously ill child by donating the thank you gift cards they receive for their lifesaving donations back to the blood center to be used to support the Tomorrows Children Fund (TCF) birthday project.

Gift cards to The Outlets at Bergen Town Center in Paramus (NJ) will be given to donors when they donate at the Paramus, Montvale or Lincoln Park donation sites on Friday or Saturday, December 5 or 6.

Donors can begin their holiday shopping with their gift cards, or they can donate them back to Community Blood Services to help us support TCFs birthday parties for children fighting cancer or serious blood disorders who are confined to Hackensack UMC on their birthdays. The more gift cards collected, the more parties we can provide! said Karen Ferriday, director of community affairs.

Call 201-251-3703 to schedule your donation or click here to schedule online at the Paramus center, 1 West Ridgewood Avenue, Suite 208 on Friday or Saturday; the Montvale center, 102 Chestnut Ridge Road on Friday; or the Lincoln Park center, 63 Beaverbrook Road, Suite 304 on Saturday. click here for hours at each site. Whole blood donors can also walk in but an appointment is needed to donate platelets.

The Tomorrows Childrens Fund is extremely grateful to Community Blood Services for helping to bring birthday joy into the lives of our courageous patients, said Lynn Hoffman, executive director of TCF. To learn more about TCF, visit www.tcfkid.org.

All blood types and products are needed, especially O negative, platelets and A & AB male plasma, Ferriday said, noting the blood supply is expected to start dipping as the holidays get closer.
