Buy Discounted Tickets to The Barclays PGA Tour
And Help Community Blood Services

August 2010

PARAMUS, N.J. – Community Blood Services’ Foundation, the fundraising arm of Community Blood Services of NJ/NY, is participating in The Barclays’ TICKETS Fore CHARITY™ program, a unique fundraising initiative designed to improve the quality of life in the communities where PGA TOUR tournaments are held.

The Barclays, the first event in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, will feature 125 of the top players on tour from August 24th through 29th at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus.

Community Blood Services, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to meeting the medical transfusion needs of its community, is promoting tournament tickets through TICKETS Fore CHARITY to benefit its organization. By purchasing tickets on line at www.buytfc.com and designating Community Blood Services’ Code Number (TBLBSC), the Foundation will receive 75% of the ticket price.

Daily grounds passes can be purchased for $45 plus taxes & fees - a $25 savings of the regular price of $70. The pass is available through August 25th for a specific day from August 26th through 29th.

“This is an incredible opportunity to raise unlimited funds for your community blood center and there are no costs to the center,” said Stanley Siegel, executive director of the Foundation. “Fans will get to witness the very best the PGA TOUR has to offer and generate revenue for our organization which needs your help more than ever. “

The not-for-profit Community Blood Services provides blood and blood products to patients in more than 30 hospitals in New Jersey and New York. It operates lifesaving mobile blood drives throughout the region and donor centers in both states, and is home to the New Jersey Cord Blood Bank and The HLA Registry, which recruit volunteer donors for stem cell transplants.

The TICKETS Fore CHARITY program was announced on April 8 at a charity reception at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus. In 2009, the first year of the program, almost $100,000 was generated for local charities; the tournament has set a goal of $150,000 for 2010.

In addition to benefitting Community Blood Services’ lifesaving programs and services, 25 percent of the cost of a ticket goes to The First Tee of Metropolitan New York. The First Tee is an initiative of the World Golf Foundation aimed at positively impacting the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and education programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.

The PGA TOUR, its players and tournaments support more than 3,000 charities. These local and national organizations work in a range of areas affecting the lives of millions in the communities where we live and play. In 2009, The Barclays donated $1 million to local charities, bringing the total amount raised since 1967 to more than $36 million.

About The Barclays
The Barclays has been a part of the PGA TOUR schedule since 1967 when Jack Nicklaus won the inaugural event at Westchester Country Club. Since that time, some of the greatest players in the game have earned the title, including World Golf Hall of Famers Arnold Palmer, Johnny Miller, Raymond Floyd, Seve Ballesteros, Hale Irwin, Curtis Strange and the new defending champion, Heath Slocum, 2009 winner of The Barclays. Many of the world’s current top players have won the event as well, including two-time champions Ernie Els and Sergio Garcia, and four-time champion Vijay Singh. As the first of four playoff events, The Barclays plays a leading role in the FedExCup, the season-long competition that is the centerpiece of the PGA TOUR season. In 2010, The Barclays will be held at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus New Jersey, from August 24-29.
